From school to exam centre
1992
The language school Jantar is founded in Split. Over the years it becomes the largest preparation centre for Cambridge exams in Croatia.
2018
Cambridge authorises us as exam centre HR015. At first we run exams for our own learners.
2021
We become the only Cambridge English exam centre in Croatia.
2022
We start running exams across the country, both for candidates from other schools and for those who apply on their own.
2025
We start running IELTS as well, as the only authorised centre in Croatia, also covering Slovenia.
Today
We hold exams regularly in Zagreb, where we have our own premises, twice a year in Split, and once a year in Rijeka, Čakovec and Vinkovci.
What an exam centre does
The exams are produced and marked by Cambridge University Press & Assessment, part of the University of Cambridge. The exam centre organises the sessions, runs the exams according to Cambridge regulations, looks after the security of the exam materials and hands candidates their certificates.

Jantar – International House Split
Jantar is a member of International House, a worldwide network of language schools. Alongside exams and courses, we run international projects and teacher training.
We are also authorised for Cambridge exams in Serbia (exams.rs), and we run IELTS in Croatia and Slovenia (ieltsadria.com).
