Results and certificates

The result of a digital exam arrives in 5 to 10 working days, and the result of a paper-based exam usually in 4 to 6 weeks. The certificate arrives a few weeks after the result and does not expire.

How do I check my exam result?

  1. Open the Cambridge website for candidates.
  2. Register with your ID Number and Secret Number. Both are on your Confirmation of Entry.
  3. When the result is released, you can see it there and share it with the institution that asks for it.

What the result shows

For exams from A2 Key to C2 Proficiency you receive a score on the Cambridge English Scale for each skill, an overall score, a grade and a CEFR level. The overall score is the average of the scores for the skills; in the exams from B2 First to C2 Proficiency, Use of English counts in the average too.

ExamGrade AGrade BGrade CLevel below
A2 Key140–150133–139120–132100–119 (A1)

C2 Proficiency220–230213–219200–212180–199 (C1)

Grades A, B and C mean you have passed the exam. Grade A, except at C2 Proficiency, means you showed ability at the level above the exam, and the certificate says so. A score in the “Level below” column brings a certificate for the lower level.

In the exams for children (Starters, Movers, Flyers) there are no scores and no fail: the child receives between one and five shields for each of the three skills.

When the certificate arrives

  • The certificate is available three to four weeks after the results are released.
  • You collect it from our office in Zagreb or Split. We send it to your home address for a fee of €15.
  • If a preparation centre applied for you, you receive the certificate at your school.

How long the certificate is valid

A Cambridge certificate does not expire. Institutions still decide for themselves how old a result they accept, so check with the place where you are submitting the certificate.

How an institution checks a result

Universities and employers check a result with Cambridge's free results verification service. The simplest way is to share the result with them yourself, from the website for candidates.

Lost certificate

If you lose your certificate, you can ask for an official confirmation of your result, issued by Cambridge, for a fee. Write to us at cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr.

If you are not satisfied with your result

If you think the result does not match what you showed in the exam, contact us as soon as possible after the results are released. We will explain the options Cambridge offers for having a result checked, and their deadlines.

Questions about results

My result has not arrived in time. What should I do?

The times are approximate. If more than 10 working days have passed since a digital exam, or more than 6 weeks since a paper-based exam, write to us.

I have lost my Confirmation of Entry with the numbers for registering. How do I get my result?

Write to us from the e-mail address you gave in your application, and we will help you get the details.

The name on the certificate is wrong. Can it be corrected?

Check your details as soon as you receive your Confirmation of Entry and report any mistake straight away: at that stage it is easy to correct. After the certificate has been issued, contact us and we will check what is possible.
