These Regulations set out the mutual rights and obligations of Učilište Jantar as the exam centre (HR015) and the exam candidate, or the natural person who applies for the exam. Every candidate must be familiar with all the provisions of these Regulations. For candidates who are minors, the parents must be familiar with all the provisions of these Regulations.
Applying for an exam
- Candidates apply using the application form on the website ispiti.org or through their preparation centre.
- Applications can be made within the application period, which is set in advance for each session and published on the website ispiti.org.
- Applications can also be made after the application period has ended, up to 10 days before the session, on payment of a late entry fee of EUR 33 (late registration fee), if places are available.
- On receipt of the completed application form, Učilište Jantar will send candidates a payment slip for the full exam fee (published on the website ispiti.org) and for any late entry fee.
- All payments must be received by the last date of the application period. If payment for the exam is received after the last date of the period, the payment is deemed not to have been made in full and the late entry fee of EUR 33 will be charged in addition.
- The application is considered complete only when the exam fee has been received in full, which confirms the booking for the exam in the session concerned.
- Personal data collected through the application form is used solely for the purposes of registration for and taking of the exam, the issue of certificates, and communication between Učilište Jantar and the candidate.
Confirmation of Entry
- At least two weeks before the date of the Speaking test, registered candidates will receive, by e-mail at the address given in the application form, their Confirmation of Entry with all the details of the time and place of the exam.
- If any personal detail on the Confirmation of Entry is incorrect, Učilište Jantar must be informed immediately by e-mail at cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr, so that any errors can be corrected and the personal information on the certificates issued is correct.
- Candidates will also receive additional documents: the Notice to Candidates and the Summary regulations for candidates, which they are required to read.
- In certain cases these documents are sent to the preparation centre, which is then required to forward them to the candidates. This rule applies only to candidates who are entered directly by a preparation centre that has previously signed an agreement on such delivery of these documents.
- If a candidate has not received these documents two weeks before the Speaking test, the candidate must contact Učilište Jantar immediately by e-mail at cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr.
- Učilište Jantar is not responsible where a candidate has not received these documents because of junk mail (spam), an e-mail address entered incorrectly on the application form, or any other reason beyond the control of Učilište Jantar.
Special arrangements for taking the exam
- Special arrangements for taking the exam can be provided for candidates with special needs (e.g. blindness, dyslexia, hearing impairment and the like) and for candidates with limited mobility (e.g. wheelchair users).
- If a candidate needs special arrangements for the exam, the candidate must inform Učilište Jantar at least five days before the end of the application period, by e-mail at cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr. In that case the candidate will be sent the Special Arrangements Request Form, which must be completed and to which the candidate must attach the appropriate medical documentation (no more than two years old).
On the day of the exam
- On the day of the exam, candidates must follow the instructions of the Učilište Jantar staff involved in organising the exam.
- Candidates must arrive at the exam venue (for both the Speaking test and the written papers) 20 minutes before the start of the exam. If they arrive earlier than that, candidates must wait outside the area in which the exams are taking place, unless the staff involved in organising the exam allow otherwise.
- All candidates must have a valid identity document with them, namely an identity card or a passport. Candidates who do not have a valid identity document with them will not be admitted to the exam and are not entitled to a refund of the exam fee. A candidate without an identity document may be admitted to the exam if the candidate guarantees that someone will bring a valid identity document before the end of the last component of the exam. In that case the supervisor will follow the procedure set out in the current Exam day booklet (appendix A).
- All candidates must bring their Confirmation of Entry. This document also shows the Candidate number, which the candidate will use to find their allocated seat for the written papers.
- Laptops, tablets, smartwatches and similar electronic equipment may not be brought to the exam venue.
During the exam
- The use of a mobile phone or any other electronic device is not allowed at any time during the exam.
- Do not bring bags, jackets or other personal belongings into the room in which you take the exam. A place for them will be provided within the premises where the exam is held.
- No food or drink may be brought into the exam, except water in a clear bottle without a label.
- In the event of improper conduct during the exam, the invigilator will inform Cambridge Assessment English, which may lead to the disqualification of the candidate. Candidates found to be behaving improperly may also be removed from the exam, with no right to a refund.
- Listen carefully to the instructions that the invigilator will read out before each part of the exam.
Cancellation and refunds
- Once the booking has been confirmed, that is, once payment has been received, the exam cannot be cancelled, moved to a later date or transferred to another exam.
- The fee paid will not be refunded if the candidate withdraws from the exam or does not pass it.
- By way of exception, in the event of sudden illness and on presentation of the appropriate medical documentation, a request may be made to transfer the money paid to the next session. Each such request will be considered individually and approved or rejected in accordance with the decision of Cambridge Assessment English. The appropriate medical documentation must be sent to cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr no later than seven days after the exam. A transfer can be made only once, and only to the first available following session for the exam concerned.
Results and certificates
- The exams and all of the candidate's work connected with taking the exam are the property of the University of Cambridge and will not be handed over to the candidate, schools or centres under any circumstances.
- For paper-based exams, results will be available within six to nine weeks after the session.
- For digital (computer-based) exams, results will be available two weeks after the exam.
- All candidates will receive, with their Confirmation of Entry, identification numbers with which they can access their results on the website https://candidates.cambridgeenglish.org/.
- Three to four weeks after the results are released, certificates will be available to all candidates at our offices in Split or Zagreb. Candidates who wish to receive their certificate at their home address must pay a fee of EUR 15 for postal costs. Candidates who applied through a preparation centre will receive their certificates through that centre.
- If a certificate is lost, a certified copy of the certificate may be requested for a fee.
