Exam day: what to bring and what to expect

Bring a valid identity card or passport and your Confirmation of Entry, and arrive 20 minutes before the start. Without an identity document you cannot take the exam.

Before the exam

  • At least two weeks before the Speaking test you receive your Confirmation of Entry by e-mail, with the place and time of the exam.
  • Check that your name and date of birth are correct: that is how they will appear on the certificate. Report any mistake straight away to cambridge.ispiti@jantar.hr.
  • If your Confirmation of Entry has not arrived two weeks before the Speaking test, look in your spam folder, then contact us.

What to bring

  • A valid identity card or passport. The number of the document must match the one in your application.
  • Your Confirmation of Entry. It shows your candidate number, which you use to find your seat.
  • Water in a clear bottle with no label, if you wish.

What stays outside the room

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices.
  • Bags, coats and personal belongings: a place is provided for them.
  • Food and drink, except water.

How the exam runs

Arrive 20 minutes before the start. The written papers and the Speaking test may be on different days: the date and time of each are in your Confirmation of Entry. Before each part the invigilator reads out the instructions; listen to them carefully.

You take a digital exam on a computer at the exam centre. The Speaking test is face to face: from A2 Key to C2 Proficiency you take it in a pair with another candidate, in front of two examiners, and in the exams for children the child talks to the examiner one to one.

Special arrangements

Special arrangements can be made for candidates with difficulties, for example dyslexia, a visual or hearing impairment, or reduced mobility. The request must be sent at least five days before the closing date for applications, with medical documentation.

After the exam

The result of a digital exam arrives in 5 to 10 working days. The page Results and certificates explains how to see it and when the certificate arrives. All the exam rules are on the page Rules and regulations.
